I'm a western MA designer, artist, problem solver, analytical thinker, and lover of all things web and business.
After years of dabbling in professions from commercial production assistant to math teacher, I knew I had to find a path better suited to my strengths and passions. I desperately wanted work that involved creativity and problem solving. Through research, the world of graphic and web design seemed to be a place where I could have both. So in 2008, I enrolled in an intensive program through Boston University's Center for Digital Imaging Arts, and it changed everything.
All of my experience, education, skills and abilities had finally fused in perfect harmony on the web, and landing a job at a small ecommerce startup was an awesome fit. I dove right in to the research, photography, writing, and design. I learned as much as I could from my co-workers about the company, the customers, and the products. I took advantage of the opportunity to work across disciplines, wear multiple hats, and drive change. It was an educational platform like no other.
I love looking at the data, and thinking about all the variables that create it. Understanding the meaning behind the stats is an essential part of the creative process, because it is the starting point for site navigation, content strategy, user interface, and visual design.
